Saddlebrook Band Announcements

The Omaha Public Schools will be on Winter Break December 25th - January 8th. School will resume on Tuesday, January 9th.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the band students on a very fine performance on the Saddlebrook Winter Program! The student's hard work was evident considering they have only been playing their instruments for three and a half months! THANK YOU to all the parents/guardians and other family members who attended the program to support all of the musicians at Saddlebrook! It is my hope that each band student will find an appropriate place (like a gathering of family or friends) over Winter Break to perform some of the tunes we played on the Winter Program...

Practice is an essential component to building any skill. Learning to play a band instrument is no exception. Beginning band students should be practicing about 10-15 minutes a day (total of about 60-80 minutes per week). Students should keep track of their practice time on the band calendar.

Are you confused about what day your child should bring their instrument to school for band lessons? Trust me- you are not the only one! To help students and parents remember to bring their instruments on the correct days I will be using the Remind app this year. Please see the letter in the SADDLEBROOK BAND DOCUMENTS section at the bottom of this page for instructions on how to sign up for this email/text message reminder service. Signing up is completely voluntary but may be a great way to help you and your child plan more efficiently for band lesson days.

Feel free to contact me at any time with any questions you have about band lessons.
